^ team training-Training session with the team with emphasis on the GK. How to incorporate the Gk with the team.
The training is done 1 day a week for 8 weeks.
Here is the breakdown of the curriculum:
Session #1 Footwork and Stance / Catching Techniques Session #2 Angle Play and Positioning Session #3 Diving Techniques and Deflecting Session #4 Crosses and Punching Session #5 Break-A-Ways Session #6 Distribution: Throwing and Catching Session #7 Dead Ball Situations Session #8 Flexibility and Strength Exercises, Abdominal and Back Exercises.
A note from the director:
One thing that I noticed with teams is that the GK position is taken lightly. If a Gk has not been trained in practice; how do you expect him to perform in game situations. GK's should be improving during the season, not regressing. The more they practice the drills with a trainer the better they should be getting. This in turn should raise their confidence level. Remember the GK is the last line of defense and the first line of offense.
