Southern Maryland Futbol Club
Super Y League

TRY-OUTS For the "08" SYL Season will begin in December. If interested please email AdamRitchie@GreaterExperienceSoccerAcademy.com
The Southern Maryland Futbol Club is proud to announce the formation of five Super Y-League (SYL) teams, girls age group between U-13 and U-17, for the upcoming 2008 season.
The United Soccer Leagues (USL) provides a professionalized system for developing elite youth soccer players in North America, with their Super Y-League (SYL) as the entry level. Affiliated with US Soccer and partnered with US Club Soccer, SYL is designed for talented youth players destined for professional or international careers. SYL is the only national youth league in the country, aimed at the top 1% of all players. The league contains the youth academies of USL First Division, USL Second Division, Premier Development League, Women’s League (W-League), and Major League Soccer (MLS) clubs, as well as many of the established premier youth clubs. SYL is the first part of the USL system that feeds into all of the men’s and women’s professional leagues in this country.
The Super Y-League has been granted full Olympic Development Program (ODP) status. SYL officially received the designation from the United States Soccer Federation and the United States Olympic Committee at the US Soccer AGM in San Francisco in 2003. Through ODP events, such as the SYL North American Finals and National ODP Camps, the nation's top players have an opportunity to be identified for selection to US National Team Programs through their league play. For more information on SYL, see their website http://www.superyleague.com/.
USL has awarded Southern Maryland FC the opportunity to represent the area in the top youth league in the nation. The 2007 campaign features over 800 teams within the U13 – U17 boys and girls age groups competing within 10 geographic divisions of the U.S. and Canada. SMFC will play in a newly re-aligned Mid-Atlantic Region, stretching from Washington DC north to the metro New York City area and to Northern New Jersey. All games are played between May and August.
Cost per player will be $400. The cost will cover all team and uniform fees. (This does not cover travel fees for players or home game ref fees. ) Please make all checks payable to GESA. Fees will be due if and when a player is placed on a Southern Maryland FC Super Y League team. There will bo no refunds for any reason after May 1st.
